This course provides the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
This course applies to all persons who may be required to provide a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
It is recommended, by the Australian Resuscitation Council, that a CPR refresher program is undertaken every 12 months.
Reading and writing – a learner will be able to read, comprehend and write a range of texts within a variety of contexts.
Oral communication – a learner will be able to use and respond to spoken language including some unfamiliar material within a variety of contexts.
Digital literacy – a learner will be able to use a variety of digital devices and their applications/programs/software within a variety of contexts.

On Successful Completion of the Course and verification of your USI Number, you will receive a PDF Statement of Attainment showing you have fulfilled the requirements of HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
The cost of the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course is $60 per person
It is a requirement of this course that a practical demonstration of CPR is performed for 2 minutes on the floor, so please, wear clothes that will enable you to complete this requirement.
Blended option (theory is completed on line before attending the course and the practical training on the day of the course)
The online pre-course theory component on average takes students up to 2 hours to complete, some students take more time, some less time.
2 hours is allowed for the face to face or classroom component, but if the group is experienced in CPR this could take less time.
Once you have registered for your course, a link will be emailed to you to activate your account and access the online pre-course theory. This must be completed prior to attending the face-to-face component of the course.
There is no limit to the number of attempts at the online quizzes and no fee for additional attempts.
Students must have a digital device i.e. computer, tablet or smart phone with access to the internet to complete the pre-course learning online.
No paper exams on the day. You are assessed using scenarios and simulations, the trainer will observe these as you demonstrate the required skills and knowledge. Don't panic, you are fully supported in these scenarios.
The pre-course online learning assessment comprises multiple choice, true or false as well as click and drag questions.

This course applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
This course is aimed at school leavers and mature age persons who are looking for work or who are existing workers seeking to renew their qualifications.
It is recommended, by the Australian Resuscitation Council, that a first aid qualification is updated every 3 years.

This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to administer restricted analgesics to provide pain management as part of a medically supervised first responder organisation. It includes identifying the need for analgesia, accessing, preparing and administering restricted pain relief such as analgesics according to medically endorsed protocols, performing casualty handovers and completing analgesic use requirements.
This course is aimed at worker in the security industry, those working remotely or in areas of high risk, required to be occupational first aiders, volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service or are existing workers seeking to renew their qualifications in these fields.
Best practice for refresher training of PUAEME008 – Provide pain management is that it occurs every 1 year.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

We only conduct this training for companies, there are no regular PUAEME008 – Provide pain management courses held for the public, at times we can add members of the public onto these company courses when they are held at 5 Botham Close, Charmhaven, NSW

Full face to face training
All training including theory and practical is conducted at your workplace with no pre-course learning.
Students must have a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid qualification.
On Successful Completion of the Course, you will receive a PDF Statement of Attainment showing you have fulfilled the requirements of PUAEME008 – Provide pain management.
The cost of the PUAEME008 – Provide pain management course is $120 per person
It is a requirement of this course that you are monitoring the patient whilst an analgesic drug is administered, including assessing vital signs such as level of consciousness, breathing rate, pulse rate, skin colour and temperature, so please, wear clothes that will enable you to complete this requirement.
Full Face to face option (no pre-course learning, all training and assessment on the day of the course) This option is only for businesses who have a current PUAEME008 – Provide pain management qualification who are looking to renew their qualification.
At this stage there is no pre-course content due to it being a face to face training course.
There is a paper exam on the day.
